The Durand Football Tournament or Durand Cup was first held in 1888 in Annadale, Shimla. It was co-hosted by the Durand Football Tournament Society (DFTS) and Osians. The tournament is not only the oldest football tournament in Asia but also the world.

KD Jadhav a veteran wrestler, also known as Pocket Dynamo, was the first Indian Olympic medalist in an individual sport . He won it at the age of just 27 years.
