People infected with COVID-19 shows symptoms of fever, cough and shortness of breath. Other common symptoms may include runny nose, headache, sore throat, body ache, etc.


In December 2019, a pneumonia outbreak was reported in Wuhan, China. On 31 December 2019, the outbreak was traced to a novel strain of coronavirus which was given the interim name 2019-nCoV by the World Health Organization.

Viruses are the germs that can only surviev inside of a host. Their lifespan is relatively short but can cause a lot of damage. It is a virus that causes Corona, chickenpox, the flu and the measles.



The word 'quarantine' originates from quarantena, the Venetian language form, meaning 'forty days'.
