Holi marks the end of winter and the beginning of spring.

Holi is popularly known as the festival of colours. It signifies the victory of good over evil and is celebrated as a day of spreading happiness and love.

Purple is the official colour of International Women's Day. The colour was chosen, because it symbolises dignity and justice, which are the two important goals which IWD aims to achieve for all women in all parts of the world.
